Electric Guitar Design

History
George Beauchamp invented the electric guitar or some may call the lap steel guitar. Originally, in the first Line of electric guitars hollow archtop guitar bodies to which electromagnetic transducers had been attached.
The early years
Sketch of Rickenbacker "frying pan" Lap steel guitar from 1934 patent application.
Electric guitars were originally from an assortment of luthiers, electronics design enthusiasts and equipment manufacturers, in different Combinations. adapted some of the first electric guitars, then essentially hollow body acoustic instruments used tungsten pickups and were manufactured in the 1930s by Rickenbacker. In 1935, a Soviet scientist working separately known by his Western counterparts, was an electric guitar Russian name "Kuznetsov electromagnetic guitar" to have. It was issued at a Technology Expo in Moscow, but his development has been since the Stalin regime was hostile to music [edit guitar needed] stopped.
At least one company, Audiovox, built and may have offered electric solid-body as early as the mid-1930s. Rickenbacher, later wrote Rickenbacker offered a cast aluminum Electric guitar, called the Pan or The Pancake Guitar, beginning in 1933.
Another early solid body electric guitar was designed and built by musician and inventor Les Paul in the early 1940s, working after hours in the Epiphone Guitar factory. His guitar log (so called because it consisted of a simple 4×4 wood post with a attached Neck and homemade pickups and hardware, was patented in Sweden with two removable hollow halves on the sides for only apparently) attached and is often called the be the first of its kind, although it sold nothing in design or hardware with the solid body Les Paul "model of Gibson shares.
Fender
Main article: Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
Sketch of Fender Lap Steel Guitar 1944 Patent Application.
In 1950 and 1951, electronics and instrument amplifier maker Leo Fender his firm designed the first commercially successful solid-body guitar with magnetic pickups, which was originally called the "Esquire". The two-pickup version the Esquire was called the "Broadcaster". The bolt-on neck was consistent with Leo Fender's belief that the instrument would cost modular design to allow and consistent manufacturing and assembly, and a simple repair or replacement.
In 1954 Fender introduced the Fender Stratocaster, or Start. It was as a deluxe model and positions offered various product improvements and innovations across the Telecaster. These innovations included an ash or alder double-cutaway body design for badge assembly with an integrated vibrato mechanism (called a synchronized tremolo, Fender, and thus began a confusion of terms even further), three single-coil pickups, Body contours and comfort. Leo Fender is also developing the first commercially successful electric bass credited called Fender Precision Bass, introduced in 1951.
Gibson
Main article: Gibson Guitar Corporation
Gibson, like many guitar manufacturers, had long offered semi-acoustic guitars with pickups and previously rejected Les Paul and his "log" Electric in the 1940s. In reaction to the apparent Telecaster, Gibson introduced the first Gibson Les Paul solid body guitar in 1952 (although Les Paul was actually filed only at the end of the design process for experts fine-tune the almost complete design and marketing approval). Features include the Les Paul a Solid Mahogany body with a carved maple top (similar to a violin and earlier Gibson archtop hollow body electric guitars) and contrasting edging, two single-coil "soapbar" pickups, set a 24 "scale mahogany neck with a more traditional glued-in" neck joint, binding on the edges the fingerboard and a tilt-back headstock with three machine heads (tuners) on a page. The first models had a combination bridge and trapeze tailpiece design that in the Indeed, by Les Paul himself was drafted, but was not widely unpopular and discontinued after the first year. Gibson then developed the Tune-o-matic bridge and separate stop tailpiece, An adjustable non-vibrato-Design, which will last. Until 1957, Gibson was the last major change to the Les Paul out, as we know it today – the humbucker or humbucker. The humbucker was invented by Seth Lover a dual-coil pickups, the two windings connected out of phase and reverse-wound presented to the 60-cycle hum associated with single-coil pickups ; Cancel a by-product, but also a strong, produces more "mellow" tone that many guitarists appeals. The more traditional in design and styled Gibson solid-body instruments were a contrast to modular designs Leo Fender's, with the main distinguishing feature is the method of neck attachment and the scale of the neck (Gibson-24.75 ", Fender 25.5"). Each design has its own advantages. To date, the basic design of many solid-body guitars available today derived from the original design – the Telecaster, Stratocaster and Les Paul.
Vox
In 1962 Vox introduced the pentagonal Phantom guitar, originally made in England, but soon after made by EKO of Italy. It was followed a year later by the teardrop-shaped Mark VI, the prototype that used by Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones was. Vox guitars with onboard effects and electronics experiments. The Teardrop won an award for its design. In the mid-1960s, when the sound of electric 12-string Guitar became popular, Vox introduced the Phantom XII and Mark XII 12 string electric guitars. Vox produces many more traditional 6 and 12 string electric guitar in England and Italy.
Guitar body
In 1966 Vox introduced the revolutionary but problematic Guitar organ, a Phantom VI guitar with internal organs electronics. The instrument of release mechanism requires a specially wired circuit pick, that links to each bundle, which in a very broad and unwieldy finished neck. John Lennon was a given in a bid to secure a confirmation, although this is never gone. After Up-Tight: The Velvet Underground Story, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones also tried one, and when asked by the Velvets, if it works, "was his answer negative. The instrument was never popular, but it was a forerunner of the modern guitar synthesizer.
Other guitars
Also using other materials than wood. Travis Bean and Kremer built with aluminum-neck guitars. Danelectro used cardboard bodies. Also plasic and carbon bodied guitars in the Past has been made. The Gittler guitar was a guitar in the design 8os made. 1991 saw the introduction of the first truly workable guitar designer Jol Dantzig's acoustic-electric Hybrid-guitar design. The instrument, called The Duotone, was designed as Dantzig became Hamer Guitars. (Danzig was also the designer of the first 12-string bass.) Adapted by players like Ty Tabor, Stone Gossard, Elvis Costello and Jeff Tweedy, it was a full duplex "Duplex" means that between acoustic and electric Tones could change. Recently there have been many entries in the hybrid category (which may have been both acoustic and electric tones), including the T5 by Taylor, Michael Kelly's "hybrid", the Parker Fly and Anderson Crowder. In the 90s, the band Neptune weird looking buildings with metal guitar 3rd Bridge Options installed. A precursor of this kind of guitar is the Pencilina. Linda Manzer Pikasso designed the guitar with multiple necks.

Guitar Tricks

This article is to review a publication on a series of six books, which are very detailed and clear explanation of guitars Tube amplifier architecture, circuits, resistance, components and construction process for yourself, which I ever found. The valuation discounts for each individual separately and Guide recommends always buy them in a certain to grow your know-how in step with your create encounter.
Kevin O'Connor Strength of London has a number of ebooks in Under the primary title of "The Ultimate Tone produced." These publications are truly unique and very carefully for the Do-It-self (Do it yourself) guitar tube amp hobby and boutique amp builders cut. The leaders have a residence-made "feeling" so beautiful. . . All images are made by hand and the books are copy-on 8 printed. five "x11" paper and bound with plastic covers and spines clear plastic. There are six guides in the string now published with the latest ever in the late spring of 2008. You may want the entire string if all should buy from and get a modest savings, but, I'll keep buying them to see one at a time and digest as you go, job creation on the road. An important position, though. . . You do not necessarily want to buy them in numerical purchase. I propose the following sequence:

  1. The Greatest Tone Band a few – Generations of Tone
  2. The best sound, size 5 – Tone Capture
  3. The Greatest Amount 2 Tone – methods method for Stage Seem Nirvana

The largest amount of strength three – generations of strength
This is the most important guide in the sequence to begin tube amplifier Builder.
Chapter 4 a few to lay the foundation for a very good DIY tube amplifier works, you fill in excellent electrical connections, grounding method Lead and other wiring sets dress and mechanical design methods such as assembly processes such as terminal blocks, turret and eyelet boards.

The following chapters each for a certain "iconic" amplifiers, each amplifier iconic stay a prototypical example of amplifiers in its class, and they are examines in detail how the circuitry peculiar tonal qualities, and the outcome fatal mistake that is notorious for the product. Kevin has the authentic Diagrams and then shows how to apply the tactics in-depth in the first chapters of the general performance and reliability of the symbol without affecting to improve the strength. The schematics are provided to be redrawn layouts and mechanical options are worked each chapter you get a complete, converged, Build-it-yourself amp company.

This method is repeated for a number of variations of the Champ in Chapter 5 (significantly influenced this chapter my personal single-ended amplifier task), then in quick succession: the Bassman, Plexi, 800, Bull Dog, AC-30, Portaflex, SVT, Bass Master, Customized Specific are Guitar Mate, Duke and treated Laney Amplifier.

If you only have a certain Diy Instructions for guitar amp, I can heartily recommend pastime would this particular.

The greatest strength amount 5 – Tone Capture
Amount 5 reproduces exactly where amount 3 left, with a project-oriented Method and some challenging DIY tube amp options for guitar and bass.

The guide begins with a chapter surveying vacuum tube Operation called "tube strength," followed by a chapter on the guitar and electronic pickup qualities.
The following two chapters are small projects: Sigma consequences for switching and Triple-X switch for amplifiers.

Chapter 5 &lifier; 6 on transformers. . . critical components, but it made me Yawn, sorry.
Beginning with Chapter 7, will be pulled all the stops and you are in project heaven. . . Main (200W), Soma 84 (amp EL84), standard (London Electric Power Normal preamp coupled to a 1995 50W amplifier employing four-power tubes), double-probe (mixing energy tube types), AX84 (Talk to the authentic target an extremely low power output amplifier), Kelly (from four 6V6s 50W) and many other jobs of lesser importance.

1 favorite company I did was dependent on Kevin's review of the Matchless HotBox Tube Preamp in Chapter 16 of the pedal. I designed this in a truly "precise point-to-point style-Pedal" (Ie, terminal) in a tube pedal case from Doug Hoffman by a stack Baxandall strength and revision of the preliminary values are far more Dumble-esqe (non-HRM kind).
What would you do to an amplifier to match Yngwie Malmsteen-style? See Chapter 18, "Swede."

The Greatest Tone Size two – Devices strategy for Stage Seem Nirvana
Quantity is two dare not pursue. Most of the e book, Chapter 2 of 5 deals with the Energy tricks and a thorough overview of Power Amplifier, the tube, Solid-State and Hybrid includes Power Amplifiers. Chapter three, the tube power amplifier, has some really realistic detail over mods and fixes for Marshall and Fender bias circuits.
I like the first and last chapter of volume 2 of the finest. The first chapter is a short discussion of sound stages and how can you and your equipment setup on the stage for the ideal audience / band of know-how. The last chapter of a Half a dozen states, "Pillars of Tone" and in this chapter, the main contributors tone at the block level are from a guitar tube amplifier technology, a a special type of supplies and Kevin discussed that some really important insight into the tone control all the preamp / amplifier.

Can a male bass guitar in a guitar amp one?

I own a Fender FM 15 DSP amp and I hope to buy guitars, a bass. I would like to know if I can A bass guitar amplifier that without ruining amplifier. Are there other amps without the fancy guitar effects, better for the Use with basses, amplifiers, or are the general conditions as the microphones used for the reinforcement of others? Nor can basses, guitars are like on a boombox or computer speakers without risk of damage to the speakers? Do I buy another amp for a bass guitar?

While it is possible to run your bass on your guitar amplifier, it is not a good idea. Guitar amplifiers are different bass amps, if you do not so much aware of your values , you may run the risk of blowing your speakers installed cone. Your better purchasing a used bass amp, and keep your guitar amplifier from damage. Good Luck!
