I bought a Soundstream Tarantula T5-12 Subwoofer recently and I need help with it?
I need to know whether it is ok to "ohms" or over "Uncle" of the subwoofer which means that the package is on that is a dual 2ohm voice coil. I need to know if it OK to a 2ohm or 4ohm Amplifier use for him. I've heard that if a sub is in "ohm'ed" then it will fry and if it is over, "ohm'ed" It is fry. If so, because of the dual 2ohm voice coil Does that mean the sub is a 4ohm sub or 2ohm Sub … I am very confused. please help
a dual 2 ohm subwoofer can be up parallel to 1 ohm or up to 4 ohms in series. You can look up subwoofer wiring diagrams online through a Google search. It gives you pictures on how to do it. then Ask to see your amp, and the lowest possible ohms. then wire it all up to the lowest safest impedance, either 1 ohm or 4 ohms.
