Cable satellite
How does cable satellite-Work
Satellite TV works by broadcasting video and audio signals from geostationary Satellite to satellite dishes on the earth's surface.
These geostationary Satellites orbiting the earth in a region of space known as the Clarke Belt.
Each of these satellites is conducting a number of transponders. These transponders carry in each case a signal back to Earth.
These signals are usually on C-band, Ku-band or Ka-band. The band of a signal describes in broad terms, the frequency the signal.
After traveling more than thirty two thousand kilometers, these signals are received by a satellite dish. These dishes vary in size from as small as 18 "wide, up to 9" or larger diameter. The purpose of the shell is as an act of collectors and a reflector. The court collects the signal and reflected them towards the horn feeds.
The feed horn receives the reflected signal and sends it to the LNB. The LNB amplifies the signal and converts it into a frequency better suited for transmission over a cable. In satellite terminology, is that cable as IFL known.
The LNB sends the signal over the IFL at the satellite receiver. The satellite receiver then sends the signal to your Tv.
Digital Satellite TV
Most satellite TV is now encoded digitally. This allows satellite broadcasters to offer more TV programs with the same amount of satellite bandwidth.
Satellite TV is available in both standard definition and in the new ATSC High definition available (HDTV) format.
The digital data is compressed, usually with MPEG-2 or a variant thereof. MPEG-4 is the beginning to the MPEG-2 to replace some satellite networks.
Cable satellite TV options
Dozens of vendors operated cable satellite television networks around the globe. Your options for satellite TV will depend on which country you live in. In addition, some spot-beam services are distinguished only specific big cities.
In the United States, the largest satellite TV provider are Dish Network and DirecTV. Both DirecTV and Dish Network programming to offer on the Ku-and Ka-band.
In addition, provide programming and National Service Superstar Programming on C-band.
Some free-to-air satellite TV channels are available free of charge even if you have a free-to-Air receiver.
