The Beginning Of The Age Of The Fender Stratocaster
Perhaps one of the most famous and best known names in the world of electric guitars, the Fender, and in 1946 was Clarence Leonidas Fender, that have, according to a rule only when Leo Fender created the design for the first electric guitar to a solid body, and a pickup that worked by using a single magnet. Originally a radio mechanic, who also created instruments amplifiers, Fender was the design of the original the name Esquire, and was an important step away from the guitars of the time when they were still hollow body design and more widely used in jazz. Fender Esquire was immediately the popular Country and Western performers, especially in California.
Originally, with only a single magnetic pickup, fender later developed a two Pickup version that was originally named the Broadcaster, but when it was later discovered that one had made by Gretsch Drum Set a name that is very similar (Broad Kaster) Fender has decided to change the names of his two pickup electric guitar and then the Telecaster was born. As the names of these instruments suggests that this was during the Dawn of television, when the Western world wake up to a new phenomenon.
Leo Fender Telecaster's was essentially a solid body guitar Ash wood with a maple neck. The neck of the Telecaster was either over 21 or 22-FRET version, and this was attached to the ash body and won by four screws, with extra strength through the use of a steel neck plate. The pickups are two single coils positioned on both the bridge and the neck of the guitar and the Telecaster came with two adjustments, both Volume and Tone. In addition, the performer could choose which combination to pick up or use by the inclusion of a switch. A jack-equipped on the body of the guitar for direct output to the amplifier added to the number of embedded cables and wires in the guitar, and a black pickguard, Bakelite produced was taken to conceal the wiring of the components from view.
Although it is sometimes believed that a production guitar with a solid body in a single piece of wood, including the neck Leo Fender do not pursue this idea, and the Telecaster had a screw on the neck for a very good reason. It was the Believe that the creation of a Fender guitar in this modular fashion to improve the consistency allowed in production techniques, as well as providing a much easier way the improvement or repair of the guitar later in his life. It is partly for this reason that it is possible today, a very rare example of what synchronized is a "nocaster to find." This is because the creation of this modular guitar was occurring simultaneously as the clash of names between the transmitter and Broad Kaster brands. The modular parts of the guitar was made, and affixed the Fender logo but no model name – as in dispute. The very early examples still Broadcaster stamped on them, and of course Telecaster had later models, but a few very rare examples have been caught in between and have no model on it – and this now brings a very high price if you find one!
It was seven years after he first created Fender Esquire model that he Stratocaster, which developed a wide range of proposed improvements and technical progress on the Telecaster. The body design was created either ash or alder, the wood dried well in advance, and the body shape was a double cutaway, creating a very distinctive visual style, as well as providing a very comfortable body contours to hold the guitar. An integrated mechanism was created to give a vibrato effect, called a synchronized tremolo with Fender – a misnomer that has caused no end of confusion ever since, has tremolo and vibrato are very different – one being volume, the other a rapid pitch change, unfortunately, Fender chose the wrong name, but it has stuck ever since! The Stratocaster also included three single-coil pickups.
