Very nice Stereo Receiver

I have this receiver for about a month now and I was totally happy with it. There is an old Pioneer 25 disc CD changer, a pair of Polk Monitor 30's and an old-ish Aiwa subwoofer set. None of this is high-end audiophile stuff. If what you are looking for then do not try the Onkyo TX-8555 or something in its price class. Like other reviewers said, "you get what you pay for."
On the other hand, I'm not no audiophile. I do not think have the money.
I love my new receiver. I listen to mostly electronic, or "techno" types of music, including live worship and alt rock. The Receiver definitely pumps a lot of bass. The subcommittee is really just to round out the sound not to blow a hole in the wall. It works very well for thumping trance with plenty of low-end detail. I hate Booty Bass Hip-Hop. Give me clear, clean, melodic bass. TX-8555 FTW!
The speakers will each recipient will make the difference. I my Polks for really cheap used. They sound better than anything I could find you in my new home. And they sound infinitely better than the mini-system I had before. Later, I will experiment with speaker placement, a little more clarity in the low-mid range. Now I'm really happy with the whole thing.
There is room for expansion on the Onkyo as well. I want the sound from my DVD player and probably a computer in order to meet soon. I am pleased to get an Onkyo iPod Dock the receiver. Yes, I'm pretty hooked on it.

Met my expectations

I am not an audiophile, but I do enjoy rich, clear, precise Sound. I bought this unit about 5 months and paired with Polk Audio TSI 200 bookshelf speakers. I could not be more pleased. The sound is, as I indicated, crisp, precise and rich and there are no audible artifacts from the receiver. The device has no frills, but that's part of the attraction for me. As other reviewers have noted, it works does not have a loudness button, but, as has been also observed that is easily solved by increasing the base a little. I connected a Philips Internet radio receiver, this system in January and once ATT will replace a damaged cable to my house, thereby correcting an intermittent broadband connection Problem, I have enjoyed many hours of a variety of music.

My first Onkyo

I was looking for an inexpensive stereo receiver to a certain run RC80i Polk Audio ceiling speakers. Levels higher than this Onkyo come for a few months before they finally press the shutter button. I think it is a great receiver for the price and does exactly what was announced. My only complaint is not a defined iPod or MP3 player button, or the connection, although I am aware that you are connected to the Clock band connection. Now I am in favor of a shopping center with my Onkyo home theater run.

I replaced my ailing Sony AV receiver, the 15-year old and was getting on in years, with this Onkyo. No regrets here – it's only first-class electronics. I have a new Pioneer and Sony rotating carousel-style CD player to the Onkyo, Polk Audio plus a subwoofer and two Sony tower speakers. The sound is really amazing. I can not get enough speak the praise of the recipient – it's easy to connect and easy to use a joy. Highly recommended!

I bought this amp recently. I own a couple of older, well-regarded amplifier (tube and solid state), that much more money when new, so my expectations were not high for this Onkyo costs. I said how nice this amp sounds'm stunned. I run the Amplifier Pure audio mode (press the Pure Audio button on the front twice, then the blue LED lights that indicates Pure Audio mode). If I did not do better knew, I would swear this was a high-end tube amplifiers. There is absolutely no background noise. No noise. No hum. Nothing but dead silence. It making music with quiet passages leap to life. Whether I use this amp to Paradigm Titan speakers or headphones Grado drive, the quality of sound reproduction and the dynamic range of absolutely remarkable, especially bass reproduction. With a CD-quality audio source, I can clearly hear each tank, with all the wood, each bass note, pluck with all the string vibration of each finger. For what this amp cost, I can not look elsewhere if you imagine the need to drive large reference monitors. This amp is more than capable of driving up to some full-size floor speakers at a reasonable volume. The amplifier includes an FM / AM tuner, works well enough. FM channels come in loud and clear with the supplied antenna. AM reception is a bit difficult with the supplied loop antenna and its short wires, expected to a minimum of seven fifty-six feet of wire to the AM antenna to add to the loop also free from any power cable. But that is really of little importance if, what you are looking for primarily a high-quality Stereo Amplifier. I've been listening to high-end amplifiers often cost much and this little sound pure and clean. The general appearance and the feeling of unity is professional, with just the right amount of weight. All controls have positive feedback and no one feels poor has failed. The volume control is particularly beautiful, with a heavy, smooth action slow to respond, resulting in a very subtle, analog-like volume control. In short, I doubt anyone be disappointed with reasonable expectations. This stereo amplifier provides performance and quality far beyond the price level.
