iPod Basics and Purchasing Guide
So, look to buy an iPod? Please take the time to read this short Items that will best help you get the most from your new iPod, and least, avoid mistakes and misunderstandings. This article is from my personal Experience, written with iPods.
1st What is an iPod?
An iPod is a MP4 player, no MP3 player. Basically, the MP4 format, a proprietary format only on Apple products like iPods and QuickTime ™ detected. To play the music on an iPod, it must be in MP4 format. Apple's music download site, iTunes ™, offers Music only in MP4 format. The iTunes ™ software which comes with an iPod, MP3 music files into MP4 format so that they play on your iPod. An iPod will not play MP3 files Neither Windows Media Player play MP4 files. Both the iPod nano and video will be stored and displayed photos, but a video iPod is required to play video files.
2nd What is iTunes?
Apple ® hosted the world's largest music download site called iTunes ™. As of March 2006 are over 1 billion files for use has been downloaded to iPods. Pretty Amazing. This site offers music files for 99 cents each, and you need not download an entire album, but can just select the desired music files and load it in your computer.
